Wetherell Mayfair Market Report – October 2019
“Freedom from want” – “Freedom from fear”

These are the inscriptions on the raised platform of the President Roosevelt statue (that stands on the north side of Grosvenor Square gardens) created by Scottish sculptor William Reid Dick and unveiled in 1948.
(1882-1845) was president from 1935 to 1945, seeing the US through the Great
Depression and the Second World War.
the 20th century, Grosvenor Square became known as “Little America” as its
history is engrained with a strong American presence. For example, John Adams,
the second president of the U.S, was once the ambassador (1785- 1788)

AWARD WINNING WETHERELL – TOP 3% IN COUNTRY
I also attended the Rightmove “Best Estate Agents Awards 2020” and picked up the Wetherell award certificate for Marketing / Service / Results.
Over the country, Rightmove analysed over 1 million listings, each compared with every agents’ patch – in total over 3 billion datasets plus carrying out over 20,000 mystery shops. After analysing all the results, they established the top 20% of branches and thus the top 3% of estate agencies in the country.
The main statistic I took away from the awards was that 9 out of 10 sellers expect to complete their sale within 3 months but that nearly 25% of transactions took 6 months or more.
The other more encouraging data set was that 47% of owners visit a branch office whilst researching who to instruct on the rental of their property whilst only 15% look at the portals. The high street model of estate agency lives on!
