Soon we approach the longest day, the social and sports’ seasons “kicks off” plus Ascot, Queen’s, Wimbledon & Henley.

This is when Mayfair’s hotels, clubs and restaurants come alive for those who live or visit the area with the area’s business community walking with more than a spring in their step.

This month Wetherell have new apartments in Mayfair & St James’s for rent and for sale each with one of the world’s leading restaurants close at hand.

From a 2 bedroom apartment close to 5 Hertford Street at £1.695M to a newly built 8,000 sq.ft. townhouse with pool, lift and garden.

To coincide with 250 years of the RA and the opening of the extension in Burlington Gardens, Wetherell have published “The New Burlingtonians” with a residential focus on one of Mayfair’s oldest and most characterful areas.

The RA250 building project, designed by the acclaimed architect Sir David Chipperfield RA, links the two sites of Burlington House and Burlington Gardens for the first time, creating one unified cultural campus.

Inside, you’ll find new free galleries dedicated to experimental architectural interventions, with displays around the building that showcase work by contemporary architects, RAs and historic casts from their Collection.

Plus there is now more space to relax and unwind, with two new café spaces in Burlington Gardens.

Wetherell have recently let a 1 bedroom apartment in the new Burlington Gate development (£1,250 p.w.)

and have a selection of duplex penthouses in Savile Row from £1,650 p.w.

Summer is when the art world comes alive in Mayfair and we detail some of the exciting events.

“We’re celebrating 250 years of the Royal Academy. It’s going to be bigger,

better, more exciting and we are still here: a bunch of old artists.”

– said Grayson Perry RA

Wetherell are offering a brand new apartment building in Park Place close to Le Caprice. Ranging in size from Studios up to 4 bedrooms – the duplex penthouse let prior to launch. From £600 p.w.

There’s something about St James’s  – the properties and the area are making a comeback – as a lettings destination.

Comparing St James’s to Mayfair was always as the bridesmaid but never the Bride.

However that image has now changed with the Crown Estate’s extensive public realm improvements in the area.

For those seeking “old St James’s” we have a unique 1 bedroom pad designed for a “Hollywood Starlet” by Nicky Haslam at the beginning of his career – even before he was “Nicky Haslam”!

This Bury Street apartment has gold ceilings, leopard bathroom and Chinese screen inspired cupboards @ £850 p.w.

After our long consultation period, The Mayfair Neighbourhood Forum has developed its plan for the district.

This plan aims to form an important part of the planning process for Mayfair for the next 20 years. If adopted. The Plan covers public realm improvements, new green spaces, directing sustainable growth and residential areas.

It looks at unique enclaves such as Savile Row, social and amenity uses plus the world class retail aspects of Mayfair.

It covers the quality of design and construction, improvement of air quality, waste management and minimising environmental impacts.

It will ensure that all new developments make appropriate provision for the consolidation of deliveries, servicing and waste collection.

Along with Heart of London and The Crown Estate, NWEC has “launched” 200 bold and beautiful flags, splashed across the West End throughout the summer in celebration of the Royal Academy’s 250th anniversary.

Royal Academicians – Grayson Perry and Rose Wylie, have each designed a series of flags to adorn the streets.

The 2018 LREF conference returns to Berkeley Square.

The programme investigates how rapid technological, economic and societal changes are having a profound impact on the way that we design, build and manage our city to ensure a successful and sustainable future for all.

Date: 13 – 14 June 2018
