Jonathan Swift (1667 –1745) the Anglo-Irish satirist, essayist, political pamphleteer, poet and cleric who wrote Gulliver’s Travels once said:

“Vision is the art of seeing the invisible.”

Wetherell have just released our new Mayfair Market Report “Don’t Wait to Buy in Mayfair” where we discuss how Knightsbridge became prime residential London’s most valuable address and as to why Mayfair is now about to take back the crown.  DOWNLOAD THE FULL REPORT HERE …..

The area contains more intelligence and human ability – to say nothing of wealth and beauty – than the world has ever collected in one space before”

This is not an estate agent’s quote but an observation by the Rev Sydney Smith (canon of St Paul’s Cathedral) over 250 years ago remarking on the construction of Grosvenor Square and the surrounding streets and squares being developed by Grosvenor and other wealthy landowners.

Today the “invisible” planning permissions of the last decade are now becoming “visible” – for whether you walk north, east, west or south in Mayfair – you will pass by 21 residential construction sites increasing the Mayfair stock by over 400 units with the prospect of increasing the residential population by 25%.

Above you will see the link for the PDF of our report plus a second link to our blog post where you can read “Mayfair – From Swampy to Swanky” on how the area turned from mud to mansions with “The Hundred Acres”; Sir Richard Grosvenor’s construction site of the 1740s.

The Voice of the Mayfair Community

This is an exciting moment in Mayfair’s history.

For the first time, Mayfair’s community of residents, businesses and visitors have articulated how they would like the area to develop.

Be a voice and submit your thoughts on the final Mayfair Neighbourhood Plan.

The vision is to make Mayfair the most desirable and attractive area of London in which to live, work and visit.

Mayfair has a unique place in London. It is the country’s most prestigious residential address and enjoys a world-class reputation for business, tourism and luxury.

A fresh vision is needed to secure Mayfair’s future and we need your input.

The Mayfair Neighbourhood Forum, a group of local residents and business leaders, has drawn up the Mayfair Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan is for everyone who lives and works in Mayfair.

https://www.mayfairforum.org/

We would like to invite you to view the Plan and to share your thoughts.

The consultation period has begun and will run for six weeks, closing on Tuesday 1 August 2017.

Award Winning

Lastly, I would like to congratulate Wetherell Senior Negotiator, Pollyanna Prescot, who was voted by her estate agency peers as “Best Newcomer” in The LonRes Awards held in Belgrave Square last night. An accolade well deserved and in keeping with Wetherell being voted London’s No.1 Boutique Estate Agent in The PrimeResi Awards earlier this year.

Over 35 years it has always been Wetherell’s moto that “No one knows Mayfair better than Wetherell”. As Mayfair’s No.1 estate agent we have always had a vision for bringing residential life back to the area through turning commercial buildings back to their original residential use. The next few years will see the culmination of this vision and we look forward to the most exciting decade in nearly a century.
